We are Mr. and Mrs. Ihara, running "REGALO vintage watch" a vintage watch shop in a seaside town named Meinohama in Fukuoka, Kyushu Area in western Japan.
Thank you for your interest in our shop, and here's our short story.

Chisato Ihara
Mrs. Chisato Ihara has been engaged in store operation as a store manager for 7 years at a famous department store in Tokyo after moving from Hiroshima. At the same time she met her future husband who gave Omega vintage watch as the first gift. It attracted her "addictedly" with its cuteness of the design that cannot be found in current watches. Moreover it was reasonable for beginners, as she was, enough to wear casually.

Masahiro Ihara
Mr. Masahiro Ihara, another half of the shop, who cannot stop talking about watches, started his career in Tokyo when he was 19 years old, dreaming of having his own shoe shop. He learned and found from his bosses and seniors at the workplaces that watches are much interesting until he changed his route of business eventually. After having worked at a world famous company where sells vintage Rolex and Omega watch, he had been thinking to open his own watch shop in the future.
"Is it OK to stay this way?"
Everything began with a tiny casual awareness.
Such two people met in Tokyo and got married. Afterwards we got blessed with the first child and moved to Kisarazu city, Chiba prefecture. It was peaceful "happy-ever-after" days.
However, various circumstances made us wonder, "Is it really the way to live as we wish?" As a result of our discussion... We decided to "open a shop"which was also Masahiro, my husband has been dreaming of.
Firstly, we took a long time to discuss "where, how, and for who" we should have our shop. Secondly, we tried finding out advantages of each other to make better use of, and then finally we began our shop in Hiroshima, our birthplace.

At last on January 23, 2015, our first shop opened in Dambara, Hiroshima, as we had desired for a long time.
We named our shop "REGALO OROLOGIO" which means "gift watch" in Italian, after the gift I received on the very precious time in my life. This is the beginning of our shop although "antique & vintage watches" were still not much familiar in Hiroshima.
Our first shop has opened for 3 years, filled with our "dreams," dealing fabulous products including watches.
In 2018, the forth year since opening our shop, supported by our sincere customers and loving people, we determined to "relocate in Fukuoka." This is our new challenge at the same time to distribute new suggestions to our dearest customers and to try to find the true value of us.
Our shop was reborn with the new name, "REGALO vintage watch" and started again in Meinohama, Nishi-ku, slightly far from the busiest shopping street in Kyushu area.
Origin of the name "REGALO vintage watch"
"REGALO" means a gift in Italian.
We named or shop "a gift" because the watches were our engagement ring, and the gifts for celebration on a new job.
Watches are also one of the items to live with and to be associated with for many years to come.
We wish our visitors to find the very unique to her/him, not to be influenced by trend.
We have such wish and idea to vintage watches.
Among them, antiques and vintages are once-in-a-lifetime chance.
Unlike new products, when you find one, you can never find the same.

Meinohama is located quite far from the business district that even the locals wonder why we have our shop here. However, it is the end of Kuko line, the subway that connects Fukuoka airport to central Fukuoka city with a single train line, and also the gateway to Itoshima, where has been popular among immigrants to live. The living environment is splendid, surrounded by shopping malls, outlet malls, the baseball stadium, and Fukuoka Tower, which is one of the most famous tourism sights.
More than above, Meinohama is a town by the sea, which we love to live. We believe that we can do the virtuoso performance when we challenge at our favorite location.

What is
What is "Antique & Vintage watch" for REGALO vintage watch?
We define antique watches manufactured before the 1960s and vintage watches manufactured after the 1970s.
More than 20 years have past since manufacture of these antiques and vintages, and their number has been declining year by year, especially when they stay in good conditions.
We would like not only gentlemen but also ladies to meet the fascination in them, designed with warm kindness and fine-manufactured by craftsmen's hands that we cannot find in current watches.
One face for one watch - fascination of vintages
We continue to be particular about watches which keep the states of the time as much as possible.
Dials and hands are easily deteriorated, so that they cannot help been exchanged to the repair parts. However some still exist in their original condition.
"This may be the last watch existing in this world..." The possibilities might make the fascinations of watches much romantic.
